About Linda Jane

Dunedin-born and trained, Linda has lived in Tauranga for the past 30 years where she shares her love of art through teaching and privately produced works.

She specialises in acrylic and watercolour landscapes, representing the varied scenery found throughout the beautiful Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Based in her Otumoetai studio, Linda warmly welcomes enquiries and visitors.

The Process

Although Linda has a studio a part of her home, she prefers to work outside. Painting is a full-on physical experience with her often large canvases.

Paint is applied with palette knives and cloths alongside other tools and materials that give way to beautiful pieces. Each work is built up with layers of paint that are left in the studio overnight to dry.

When completed, Linda places the pieces in her gallery home, altering them if she deems necessary. She works on several works at once, the reflection period an integral part of the process.
