About Linda Jane
Dunedin-born and now based in Tauranga, Linda Jane paints expressive original works shaped by the light, coastlines, harbours and everyday colour of the Bay of Plenty.
Her practice moves between contemporary, expressionist, abstract and mixed media work. Boats, dancers, coastal scenes and layered landscapes appear often, not as literal records, but as felt moments.
Linda has spent many years sharing her love of art through teaching, while building a body of original paintings from her Otumoetai studio. She welcomes enquiries from collectors, interior designers and visitors who would like to view work in person.

The Process
Painting is physical for Linda. Large canvases are worked with palette knives, brushes, cloths and whatever tool gives the surface the right kind of energy.
She often has several pieces moving at once. Layers are built, left to settle, then returned to with fresh eyes. The pause between sessions is part of the work.
Finished paintings spend time in Linda’s home gallery before release. If a piece keeps asking for something more, she listens.
