Water Peeps
Linda took her inspiration from closer to home during the lock-down. From her home in Otumoetai road, she took interest in the everyday and started painting the suburban streets around her. Water peeps is the view across to welcome bay, with a glimpse of the Tauranga estuary.
This blocky style of art is full of vibrant colour and cartoonish fun.

Linda Jane:
Dunedin born and trained, Linda has lived in Tauranga for the past 30 years where she works as an Art Teacher and now an Artist. Her paintings are mostly acrylic and watercolour landscapes, reflecting on the beautiful scenery of the Bay of Plenty. With a studio in Otumoetai, Linda welcomes inquiries and visitors.
The Process:
Although Linda has a studio at the side of her house she prefers to work outside. Painting is a full on physical experience with her often large canvases. She works on several at the same time and has them laid out on the grass ready. Paint is applied with palette knife, rags and anything else at hand at the time. Each piece is built up with layers of paint and left in the studio overnight to dry. At the completion of a piece it is arranged in the house for approval and altering is it is thought to be needed.
